A little personal post about my oldest son…

Maxwell turned 2 on April 23rd and we went over to the studio with my husband, Max, and our youngest son, Leo, in tow.

Max’s daily attire is typically sweats, long sleeved t-shirt, tennis shoes, and Nutella on his face… While at H&M a few days ago I came across the most darling little checkered shirt with a matching tie. I couldn’t resist putting my little man in a dapper outfit paired with an old pair of skinny navy pants from Zara. The next outfit was a quintessential “Max” look with the baseball t-shirt from American Apparel, jeans, and his Saucony runners. We ended the session with his Vancouver Canucks hockey jersey… Well, because he LOVES hockey.  :)

I incorporated some of Maxwell’s favorite things during photos…  Airplanes.  Dinosaurs. Hockey.

Between the bribery with fruit snacks and a few meltdowns, we ended the session on a good note.  ;)

I BEGAN MY SECOND WEDDING SEASON THIS PAST SATURDAY FOR THE NUPTIALS OF KEVIN AND KRISTYN. WHAT A PERFECT WEDDING TO KICK OF THE SEASON… I HAD A COUPLE THAT WAS MADLY IN LOVE AND THE MOST GORGEOUS SPRING DAY TO RUN AROUND AND SHOOT.

THE WEDDING COLORS AND THE VENUE COULDN’T HAVE BEEN MORE PERFECT FOR THE SEASON… ALL THE FRESH GREENS AND WHITES POPPED AGAINST THE DARK WOOD AROUND THE CHALET AND THERE WAS SO MUCH OPEN LAND TO RUN AROUND.

THERE WERE A FEW FUN TOUCHES TO THE W. WEDDING…  KRISTYN HAD A “MAN OF HONOR” AND KEVIN HAD A “BEST WOMAN”.  I FOUND IT SO COOL THAT EACH OF THEM HAD BEST FRIENDS WHO WERE OF THE OPPOSITE SEX.  WHAT ARE THE CHANCES IN THAT?  THEY ALSO INCORPORATED THEIR LOVE FOR ROCK CLIMBING INTO PHOTOS AND INTO THE CEREMONY.  WE TOOK PHOTOS WITH CARABINERS, BACKPACKS, AND ROCK CLIMBING SHOES.  ALSO, DURING THEIR CEREMONY THEY TIED A KNOT IN A ROPE RATHER THAN LIGHTING A UNITY CANDLE.  I LOVE THESE UNIQUE, SPECIAL TOUCHES TO A WEDDING DAY.

KRISTYN AND KEVIN… IT WAS SUCH AN HONOR TO CAPTURE YOUR SPECIAL DAY.  HOW BEAUTIFUL TO SEE A COUPLE WHO IS DEEPY, GENUINELY, AND ORGANICALLY IN LOVE. YOU TWO ARE TRULY MEANT FOR ONE ANOTHER… SENDING MY BEST WISHES ON MANY AMAZING YEARS TOGETHER. THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME BE APART OF YOUR DAY.

Not only is Alissa one of my very best friends but she is also my rockstar wedding-photography 2nd shooter.    She was right along side me for every wedding that I shot last year (even some lifestyle sessions).  She is a kickass photographer and has a keen-eye for design.

I’m so grateful for this lady…  Thank you, Alissa, for carrying my heavy camera bag (and the monster 70-200 lens) around while I was 7 months pregnant, always making sure I’m hydrated on really hot Summer days, and going out of your way to make our clients feel extra special on their extra special day.

Cannot wait to rock out another wedding season with my side-kick…  2012.  Let’s.  Do.  This.
