I started off 2016 with a bit of a break from work to spend time with my kids and then jumped back in the Spring with family sessions. From April until just last weekend, it was packed full of smiling faces… I am ever so thankful for all the wonderful people that I was able to work with.
This year definitely threw my family a few curveballs… The biggest curveball of them all was my Dad getting ill and passing away in the Fall. Obviously you can never prepare for this type of loss but as most of you know who have gone through something similar, Life. Goes. On… There’s really no stopping or slowing down when you’re a parent, spouse, friend, business owner, etc.
I was pleasantly surprised at how healing it was getting back to work and being around my client’s positive energy. Photography is obviously a huge part of my life but the importance of a frozen frame of time that you can literally hold in your hands has even more magic and meaning to me now than it did 12 months ago. Whether it be me or another photographer, I can’t stress enough the importance of taking photographs of the people and the places that you love the most.
I’d like to especially thank all the wonderful people that came back to me for another year of photos, for the amazing new clients that I met, & everyone who kept truckin’ along side me during a difficult year. I look forward to taking a break with my family for the remainder of 2016 and can’t wait to see everyone in 2017.
Moving into 2017, I will continue to focus on lifestyle/documentary photography with families and will also be adding Intimate Weddings + Elopement Photography. I will post something in more detail the first week of the New Year but wanted to add a bit of info to this post for anyone interested. If you are planning an elopement or small wedding where you need wedding photography for 2-4 hours, please send a note for collection information: email@example.com
